Donation for Radio Sets to Earthquake Affected Families

International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) Nepal Officials visited the Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (ACORAB) Office on May 19, 2015. During a visit, Elizabeth Côté, Country Director and Yam Bahadur Dura, Media and Communication  Officer have shared about IFES initiated activities to respond on post-earthquake situation. IFES Nepal has made two PSAs in Nepali and English language to aware rescue workers to special attention to people with disabilities.

Meanwhile, RC Lamichhane, Executive Director of ACORAB shared about post-disaster situation focused initiatives of ACORAB and CIN (information wing of ACORAB). Lamichhane mentioned about broadcasting of 30 minutes special lifeline program "Bhukampa Pachiks.o Jeevan Rakshya (Lifesaving after earthquake).

In the meantime, IFES and ACORAB made an agreement to broadcast a PSA (Nepali) of IFES. This PSA will be broadcasted in prime times news bulletins and special live saving program of CIN in coming days. Furthermore, Elizabeth Côté, Country Director of IFES provided 50 thousand Nepalese rupees as a personal donation to ACORAB to buy radio sets for earthquake affected families.
